Prior to being elected, Diana was a trial attorney with 14 years of experience. She supervised a large section of trial attorneys in state and federal courts, and is an experienced prosecutor for domestic violence and aggravated child abuse cases. Victims of violent crimes can rest assured they have an experienced fighter in their corner.
It is an honor to serve as your Vanderburgh County Prosecutor! I have spent much of my career in public service work. Before becoming your Prosecutor, I spent many years Prosecuting cases in both Illinois and Indiana and served as the Section Chief of Government Litigation at the Attorney Generals’ Office where we defended state agencies and officials — including Judges, Prosecutors, Correctional Officers and State Troopers — in Federal and State Courts. As the crime rates were increasing across the nation, and even in Vanderburgh County, I felt called to move back to my hometown to run for Prosecutor. Now, I am proud to fight for justice in Vanderburgh County as your first female elected Prosecutor.
It is an honor to work alongside our great men and women in law enforcement and stand with them in the fight to keep Vanderburgh County safe. I am passionate about being a leader among Prosecutor’s Offices, and we are constantly making strides toward that goal by continuously identifying initiatives to benefit Vanderburgh County, recruiting talent, and training staff in best practices. Victims can rest assured they have a fighter in their corner, and I always strive to ensure we are providing our best in each division of my office. Thank you for stopping by to see the great work of this office of dedicated public servants!
About
Chief Deputy Winston Lin has been ardently engaged in public service since he graduated from Indiana University Maurer School of Law and passed the Indiana bar exam. He started his career as a clerk for former Indiana Solicitor General Tom Fisher in the Office of the Indiana Attorney General.
While working on high-profile cases involving complex questions of constitutional law, he was promoted to Deputy Solicitor General and most notably assisted with the filing of a petition for certiorari in one of the earliest same-sex marriage cases presented to the United States Supreme Court. He then discovered a passion for trial litigation as a Deputy Attorney General in the Tax Litigation section. He continued to seek opportunities to further his education, earning a Certificate in State and Local Taxation from Georgetown University and serving as a Supreme Court Fellow for the National Association of Attorneys General.
Prior to his move down to Vanderburgh County, he served for several years in a managerial position as Assistant Section Chief for the Government Litigation section. Chief Deputy Lin obtained a B.S. in Biological Sciences from Stanford University.
